Time Management

According to the time management calculator, I have negative hours of time to myself, which I think is very wrong. I believe that I have plenty of time to myself, despite all the work and other responsibilities that I need to take care of. Personally, I think that they way they calculate time in the calculator should be altered so that the results are more realistic.

Sound Instrument

My sound instrument displays the icon and cry of a pokemon at a random spot on the scrceen when a letter key is pressed. The pokemon that is displayed depends on the key that is pressed, so if the letter ‘a’ is pressed, a pokemon beginning with the letter A is displayed. When the pokemon appears on the screen, its cry will sound.

Clock

My clock includes a sun and moon that are visible depending on the time of day. As the day approaches sunrise, a sun that rises every hour appears on the screen, and sets as the day ends. At night, a moon rises every hour, and sets as morning approaches. The cloud moves to the right every minute and the circle moves to the right every second. Both restart when they reach 60.

Clock

The purpose of this clock was not “losing time,” but the movement creates a confusing background and you need to use the mouse to find out where the hours are…then it’s just matter of time to find out the real time. Clock5

Sound Project

My approach to the instrument was to create a noise maker with an interactive interface. I used the Processing sound library to get a variety of different sounds. When pressed, the white button creates white noise. The brown button creates brown noise. The pink button creates pink noise. The green and black buttons create these weird oscillator noises. When you move your mouse off the screen, the pitch decreases by one level. I’m still trying to find a command that would allow me to completely stop the sound when you move the mouse off the screen.

Software Instrument

So I used a few ellipses that move along with the mouse, incorporating a sine wave with it. I wanted the ellipses to make different annoying sounds as they move along each other. I kept messing around and changed a few things, putting the frequency to 1000 and and the amp to 4. Just experimenting with the values, I also kept changing the value of x and y until I found something that seemed reasonable. It was different then what I first had in mind, but it turned out to make robotic noises that sounds like it can be apart of “technology”. As some of them hit corner it makes a different noise then what the others make, more amped. Software Instrument
